Organizing Chairperson, AM-FPD '12

I sincerely invite you to AM-FPD '12, the 19th International Workshop on Active-Matrix Flatpanel Displays -TFT Technologies and FPD Materials- (AM-FPD '12). Sponsored by the Japan Society of Applied Physics and technical co-sponsored by Electronics and Photonics Division in The Electrochemical Society (ECS), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) , AM-FPD '12 marks the nineteenth event in the workshop series. Since its inception in 1994, the workshop has been providing important opportunities for people engaged in the research and development of systems, devices& processes, materials for FPDs (Flat Panel Displays) , Thin-Film Devices, and Photovoltaics. The active-matrix displays, active devices, and photovoltaics based on Thin-Film technologies are one of the key devices for facilitating the IT and low-carbon society.

AMFPD’12 will prepare an attractive program focusing on topics such as thin-film transistors (TFTs), other thin-film devices, photovoltaics, circuitries and systems, LC technology, and crystallization, thin film materials and devices. The workshop will start with keynote addresses by Prof. Hideo Hosono (Tokyo Inst. of Technol., Japan) and Prof. Hans-Werner Schock (Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, Germany). In addition to the regular sessions, there will be three symposia, “Reliability of Si, Oxide, and Organic TFTs ”,“Current Status and Future Prospects of Novel Transparent Conductive Films” and “Recent Progress in Thin-Film Solar Cells”, in which innovative and important technologies for future TFT, transparent conductive films, and photovoltaics.
I believe that AMFPD’12 will give all attendees some solutions for achieving low-carbon society. I heartily welcome all of you and am looking forward to seeing you in Kyoto on July 2012.
